Gotta force yourself to stop being a "basic bitch", basic aspie, or whatever we wanna call it between ourselves. And start living. This stuff that you know now is nothing but a corporate brochure about nothing; it's glossy, pseudo-glamorous rationalistic bullshit. Has no soul, and its armpits don't even stink. Wouldn't be putting much faith in that holy scripture, it's made of cardboard and sucrose, specifically for idiots to consume it and remain self-satisfied.
Currently, you're all up in your head. Got it all figured out: the sun's a thermonuclear reaction and it's only purpose is to provide energy... Aspie, go fucking home. Bye, Felicia.
As a man, you gotta learn how to accept that you don't know SHIT. And then you start living, to find things out. Not in that bullshit all-in-your-head way, but viscerally, with tears in your eyes and the shakes in your hands. You will know you're on the right path when the things you start discovering about yourself and the world stop being verbalizable. You can't say them, doesn't matter how many words you use, maybe you can sing em' in a very rude & unpolished blues song, but that's just an isolated maybe.

Don't impress yourself.
Ask yourself this: WHAT DO YOU WANT?
You think you've done it all? Slayed pussy, learned a lot, gotten in shape, experienced life? OK, maybe so. How about doing something you want just for you?
Who cares about whatever else is going on? Sure, people are shit. So are you. But they're not all shit. You have good things to offer others. Why don't you think others might have something good they can offer you?

Why are you living? What do you like to do? Nobody can answer these questions for you except for yourself. And if you think that everyone is coldly calculating, just using each other, that mindset isn't any better than a social justice warrior who thinks that Everything Is Problematic. You need to learn to accept the natural ugliness of the world and look past it to find the beauty.
And sure, some people are happy to just try to collect wealth, or power, or sex, but some people aren't. Are you the kind of person who gets personal fulfillment from being creative? From having experiences (like travel, or dangerous sports, or something)?
Maybe you should take up some kind of art form. Drawing, painting, playing a musical instrument (or even better, writing your own music)... something that gives you an outlet to express your emotions.

Make life more difficult. Learn that you have to fight. Bring difficulty into your life and you will find what so many other people go through on a daily basis.
This will teach you gratitude for not only the good things you have in life, but compel you to give more to those who are in need.
Plenty of people around the world, in our country, in your town are hungry right now. How the sun works has no bearing on this, there is so much need out there besides "figuring everything out."

I started by taking ice cold showers. It sounds small, but it made a huge difference for me. You have to mentally fight to overcome the cold.
That was January, I've done other things as well. But this week, I got rid of my car. Now I bike ten miles to work, ten home. I'll get in great shape, save money, and have to get out of bed an extra two hours early every day. What can you do like this in your life?

As a pathetic beta cunt on an exveloping upward spiral, I can verily vouch for cold showers.

Was this depression present before TRP?

Can you define incorrectly? What specifically were you doing?
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Understand you completely. Your life's focus and goals are gone, need to be redefined, and a new trajectory put in place.
Bad news: you can't make anyone else happy and you can't save the whole world from illness and injury.
Good news: you are free from a doomed-to-fail mission. Now you get to place numero uno at the center of the world and everything else will fall in line

I sense you get TRP and that it didn't cause your problems, it exposed them.
Three months is a long time and its possible you need more help then talking with strangers on the internet. Why don't you rule out clinical depression and inquirie about meds? I rarely recommend this approach but I think it's worth you checking out

Reborn with pain sounds familiar. I used that pain like fuel to be a better man. A better father too.
My goals may not seem lofty to others but I work hard towards making myself and by extension my family happy.
Good luck to you
you missed one: i look at women and realize their only purpose is to satisfy their own needs.
it's not depression, it's the grave you choose to dig for yourself because you can't carry your cross anymore.

I had all of those thoughts. Contemplated suicide for a good month. No one even knows about it.
Just have fun. Thats it. Enjoy life. From there, you will do whatever you can to obtain to the freedom to enjoy your life. To set whatever standards you want.
In the end, I'm much happier in the last 2 years than I have ever been.

Sadness is when expectations are different from reality.
You want good? Look to virtue. Stoicism will take you there.
Why? Because good.
