Next year I will be a senior in high school. Currently rank 5 in my class and I'm working on becoming an Anesthesiologist, Neurosurgeon, or family practitioner when I finish college.

When I asked my father and cousin, who is officially now a neurosurgeon they both told me to just study all summer and not get a job.

Things aren't too hard here at my house. I have 4 siblings and my parents are making enough to get by. I "have" a car and a license so I can get where I need to. I have an allowance of $5 every two weeks and currently have $15 in my wallet.

I want to pick up a job to have some extra income and I will be lifting 4-5 times a week at our school gym this summer alongside the studying for my future. The question is should I only study and lift or would getting a job help me?

The job would give me job experience (making it easier to get more jobs) and money. Studying more on the other hand will help me get into a great college and land the profession I want.

I'm taking the SAT and ACT in June but I will also test next year so the extra studying will help me greatly.
