Because it is threatening to a world that is controlled by an elite that wants the masses to be subservient drones. The irony is that we are genetically programmed to respect true masculinity whether we like it or not, despite the societal programming to despise it.

True masculinity is independent. The powers that be do not want you to be independent. True masculinity is disciplined. The powers that be don't want you to be disciplined unless you are in the military (where you won't be independent anyway).

Masculine men are hard to control, protective of family, and are generally dangerous. It's hard to squeeze out resources from a real man with a family.

For weaklings to have control over the strong on a grand scale, the masculine men have to go.

Because we believe that:

People ought to be grateful to what they have;
Failure leads to disappointment and should be avoided, it's stupid to try against the odds and to try too hard altogether if you might fail AND you have a safe choice.

Encouraging ambition is "evil", even the all glorified entrepreneurship is only encouraged as long as it's "safe", as long as people have a "safety net" behind them and won't end up worst than not trying. Encouraging people to take chances is equated to encouraging them to harm themselves. Discouraging it is fair through whatever means it takes.

And masculinity is about those two. Want more. Try harder. You'll fail, then try more. It's discouraged as much and as thoroughly as it can be.
