From the way you keep describing these girls (beautiful, high profile, etc), you're putting the pussy on a pedestal. Perhaps it belongs there, but you're definitely in a "value-seeking" mentality. You need to find what type of value you can add by befriending/dating a girl like that, and use that as the basis for your confidence. I don't recommend mixing work and pleasure, just feel secure that if you build your professional reputation enough, the girls will begin to put you on the pedestal.

I'm a director/cinematographer (not both at the same time) and I've dated a beautiful actress that I had worked with. She was actually the hottest, most talented woman I've ever been involved with. I understand how you want to get involved with these women. They the best.

Do not display any interest in her during production. At all. When the frame is that of professionalism, you need to be professional. Plus, the stakes are high, your career will take a hit if you get the reputation of hitting on the women you work with.

What you do is build attraction throughout the production. Build comfort. Be passionate about your job, about getting the best work out of them. Get excited about their craft. DHV by being a good director and helping them achieve their best. You have authority over their world. This is so attractive.

You make your move at the wrap party where the pressures of being professional are gone. You'll both be in a great mood and tipsy. If you run your game and it doesn't work now, then she wouldn't anyways.

I asked my beautiful actress what attracted her to me and she told me it was how professional and passionate I was. She noticed how I didn't show any interest in her. She loved how I lead the set, kept morale high, and connected with her craft. This was years ago, but we still keep in touch. Apparently she's doing Cats on tour. If you're meeting a woman at an industry function, you should be building enough attraction and showing enough kino that she knows you are interested. Don't ask her out on a professional pretense, just ask her out. Do a night coffee/drink instead of a day date.

In that light, it doesn't matter what frame they're in at the start if you are abke to create attraction during the interaction and have a legitimate professional reason to spend that time with them. If you begin professionally and generate some legitimate IOI's it may be game on.

Just keep one eye on your professional reputation. Photographers are all banging models; but do it too often or too clumsily and your rep will suffer.

Alternative: just state from the outset that's it's an off-the-clock meeting. Sometimes this will work.

Well, they're actresses after all. Make sure you offer the best money can buy to her - take her to a very fancy restaurant, maybe rent a sportcar for the occasion... and remember: beauty is the way god tells you who's to worship - so treat her like the goddess she is and - who knows? Maybe you'll get lucky for the night ;-) and even if not, you get to spend the whole evening listening to a beautiful woman talking about her life... what's bad about that?

I've found that the good old "are you single" line works pretty well to state intent. If she says she's single then suggest the coffee/drink idea. That way it's assured that it's a date. Make sure to throw some other cocky/funny shit in between "are you single" and asking her out. a good thing to say that will make her laugh is to say "when are you going to ask me out?" after she says that she's single.

Also, qualify the fuck out of these girls, they're probably not used to being qualified, so make sure you ask them things like "are you adventurous" or any other criteria that you want in a woman, besides looks. If they say yes, then reward them by saying something like "oh I just love a girl that's down for anything".
