When people are giving advice, especially to people who've fucked up, they tend to a have a biased view. They give advice based on the fact that they've failed. They don't try to understand the situation that person was in. That can really hurt people trying to learn. Example, if you look at situation based on the fact that someone is successful, you will tend to tolerate certain behaviors that made be considering awkward or cringey by some people. If someone were unsuccessful, in the same situation, those behaviors would be focused on more than the main situation on hand. All I'm saying is try to focus on the main issues instead of bashing a kid for every single thing he did wrong. And avoid comment "cringe" as it is used too many times.
