You might try ignoring him completely. As in don't look at him, and do not respond to anything he does or says. Keep your back to him, if possible. Let him keep trying to get your attention and he will seem like a looser.

I have a friend who's like that and he gets on my nerves a lot, but at the same time, he can be a really cool guy, and chicks dig him. The best thing to do (probably) in your situation is to question everything he says. I don't want to explain what I mean by that. You can also make sure to point out his flaws (in his looks, attire, attitude, anything like that) since guys like that usually aren't used to being questioned (because they're so "alpha"). You can be completely direct if you have to, but the best way to do this is in a semi-subtle way - for example, if he wears flashy shoes, ask him why he likes them in a somewhat sarcastic manner (if he comes up with suave responses, change topics). What you're doing is pointing out his insecurities in front of other people. Usually when alphas are challenged like this, they won't have an adequate response, and most people will realize that you've knocked 'em off their pedestal, if only slightly.

Ignore putdowns, be an asshole to the chicks, they will flock to you. Duh.

Edit: Basically what you want to do is making the bitches feel insecure and worthless for falling for the AMOG's shtick, then they'll want to prove themselves worthy of your attention. Be creative
