Like the title says, I just wanna write about what happened last week so I know not to make the same mistake again (and get some thoughts).

So I do lights at a club. And last night was really dead. The DJ has a booth and I (the VJ) have another booth. I just started the job so I’m not close with the servers and whatnot, I just work and then leave. Anyways, this really cute server walks up to my booth and just starts chatting me up. Literally talking about the funniest dumbest shit (ex. “Get a bidet so a girl can eat your ass” “oh so you eat ass?” “Well maybe, I’ll do anything”). She looked amazing and we had great banter and flirty convo for like 20 minutes until we both got busy again.

Near the end of the night, she tells me about an after hours thing and gives me her number. As I’m waiting to get thru this coat check line, she is blowing up my phone. We meet up, we chat. The whole time I’m thinking “she’s fucking with me, some people are just flirty like that” and we keep having these sexual tidbits where she would say stuff like “I only really need the tip, I’m so tight” and shit like that. I’m naturally doing a good push and pull, so I’d talk to her for a bit and then chat up the room and then talk with my friends. Fast forward to 5am and she offers me a ride to mine (cuz she was sober). We get in the car and start chatting and the topic of relationships pop up. I told her that I just dumped a girl because she wasn’t mentally stimulating, and she was ending a fling with a guy who was emotionally unavailable. I’m weary of being intimate with someone I work with, so I maintained an easy gong demeanour where I asked her about her fling situation and why she felt she couldn’t get more. She just responded by saying “I’m not looking for a project, I’m busy and I know what I like” and I said word. We’re in front of my place and I say bye and head in…

Did I fuck up?

Even if I did fuck up this night, is it salvageable?

I have a couple girls in my view that have good potential to become something more, but she peaked my interest the most, and not only cuz of the sexual stuff but more about her work ethic and open personality. I made a similar mistake with a cute neighbour of mine. I often won’t recognize the flirty-ness in a convo because I almost view it as humour, so I just figure they have the same humour as me. If I could talk totally freely all the time, I’d be flirting with everyone, and with that I always anticipate that it’s humour back, so the opportunity to escalate escapes me.

TLDR : A co-worker and I flirt all night and I don’t make a move. Did I fuck up?
