You ask for directions, and when that conversation has ended and you go on you way to your destination, you give her a compliment before you say goodbye. Easier to compliment dress, shoes, hairstyle than her appearance - less personal.

As far as I understood you, you thought you'd just go over and say a girl is cute? That's a much harder thing to do, and also less successful usually.

Record it on the audio app on your phone and come back here and report your results.

Just ask for directions and say "you're very pretty by the way" or point something out you like about her. Then just leave. Do this and you'll feel alot better don't make me type this for nothing guy

If you literally go up to a girl and say this whats the worst that can happen? Maybe she'll laugh in your face? Maybe she'll say "aww thanks" and keep it moving. You are psyching yourself out by lying to yourself and telling yourself "no" before you even give yourself the chance. Just try, no harm in doing it. Everyone's gotta start somewhere.
