I've been seeing a lot of posts about how AA (fear of approaching) can be dealt with by gradually adjusting to being around women so that you don't feel as afraid. They recommend spending several days just watching women, making eye contact, or benignly asking for the time and walking away without attempting actual seduction.
However, you'll probably never get rid of all of your fear, so at some point you have to take action despite feeling afraid. That is the very definition of courage: "The ability to do something that frightens one."
Being courageous doesn't mean being unafraid; it means you feel afraid but you do it anyway.
Courage applies to life in general. Depending on how shy you are, you might feel afraid of very simple tasks like speaking up at work or asking a stranger for directions. But you have to learn to overcome that. You actually have to live a life of going after what you want without shame. This attitude is crucial to becoming a modern alpha male.
So stop waiting for the fear to go away. Accept the fear and go do what you want to anyway. The more you do this, the easier it will get. Trust that your brain will adapt to your behaviors and you will begin to see yourself in a different light as well. The next time you see a cute girl and feel intimidated, take a breath and recognize your fear. Say to yourself, "Ok, I feel afraid to approach, but I'm going to fucking do it anyway."
Good luck.
