I'm in Tokyo, speak fluent Japanese, and I'm willing to pair up any time with anyone who wants to meet some girls, whether you need help or whether you just want a flying partner. All I ask is that you be decently charming and try not to step on my toes or break any other unwritten rules, like refusing to be fair about who gets the hot one and who takes her fat friend. (Just kidding. There are no fat people in Japan)

More to the point, though, I'm curious to know if there are enough other Japan sedditors here to make it worth writing out some observations about the rather unique state of picking up girls in this country. The most obvious difference being how incredibly easy it is. (If you live here, be honest. It is embarrassingly easy. Japanese guys, as a general rule, have no game whatsoever. The simple ability to show obvious, direct interest in a girl without going over into sell-me-your-panties creepy zone will by itself put you at the very head of the pack in most cases.)

And of course there are also other interesting aspects of the scene here, like the flagrant, flagrant cockblocking that Japanese guys will get up to if they see a western looking guy initiate conversation with a (non-ugly) Japanese girl. They will come running just to ruin your approach, and they will not take a hint or even an outright threat.

All of this makes for some interesting stories and a lot of noteworthy conquests for anyone who gets into it, and I'm sure there are some of us here.

The only reason I'm not going to go on and make this into a collection of past anecdotes is I have a feeling someone is going to link me to the "seddit japan megathread" or whatever that I somehow missed, and I'm going to look like an idiot. But I'm willing and eager to post more about the topic if anyone's interested.

By the way, is it considered gauche or poor form to post pictures of dates/conquests/etc here?

When someone tells me they pulled a 10, I always want to see a picture. And when I'm telling someone about a 10 I pulled, I always want to show them.
