Went into McDonald’s to order some food, saw the manager was very busy and also very attractive, she took my order and I asked her if she was the manager and she of course replied yes I said I could definitely tell. After I got my food I came back up to the counter and asked for a pen from a different employee and wrote on a napkin “coffee? My name, and my number.” Manager was running food outside and was on her way back in with nothing in her hands. She happened to come right past me as I was finishing writing down my number. I said “ you seem like you’d have a cool personality wanna grab coffee sometime?” Apparently she didn’t hear me the first time so I had to completely say it again. Possibly because this was the only time that I’ve ever actually come out and said this to someone. So in my defense it probably sounded weak and timid. She said she was sorry but had a boyfriend. I wasn’t about to give her a hard time while she’s at work so I simply said “don’t worry about it! Have a nice evening!” (With a smile) To which she responded positively with a smile and said “thanks you as well.” (Probably her customer service smile and tone)

Looking back the only reason I asked was because I would’ve hated myself if I would’ve let another opportunity slip by. Now I know she wasn’t available and I don’t feel as if I missed an opportunity. Some things I would do differently next time would be definitely don’t ask what I’m asking for on the napkin. In all reality she was busy, I might have been better off just saying hey you seem cool text me sometime and then offer her the napkin. Maybe it was too over thought maybe it wasn’t, I’m just proud that I finally mustered up the courage to say that to someone and not have it be super awkward afterwards, I am proud that I still left with a smile on my face like it didn’t even bother me. My face is still so warm from doing that, my hands are even shaking a little still.

Thoughts or critiques on going about this in an environment where you are the customer and they’re working?
