I went out with some buddies for the first time in 4 years as a single guy (just got out of a long term relationship). I was also never good talking to girls to begin with but I was kind of excited to get out and chat with girls.

Anyways my buddy opened with these 3 girls who were pretty hot. I introduced myself and shook their hands and everything but from then I couldn't figure anything out to say to the other 2 girls while my buddy chatted up the one. I barely managed to just chat about what they do and I mustered out a reference to how they don't go out too much but it wasn't flirty at all.

It was a crappy interaction because I was in my head about how I'm not saying anything and being boring. I was kind of self destructing by thinking about what a dumbass I am for not having anything to say. I didn't want to be platonic but by thinking about that I wasn't able to talk at all.

On the brightside, i've ever approached girls I dont know and even started a conversation (even though my buddy introduced the group to me). All of my relationships have been through online dating or social circles. How should I go about things like this in the future? Chat with girls about anything until I'm used to making conversation with girls I just met? Then try to implement flirting .
