Try setting up the date before you leave. Get her number, but keep talking for a bit, have fun, and plan something.

Getting her to commit in person decreases the odds of a flake.

I've recently improved my game from numbers flaking to getting dates. What helped me was displaying my sense of humor and joking around right off the bat when I first meet them. After the number close, I continue to portray that same sense of humor when I text which makes it easier to engage in back and forth texting and also makes them more interested in seeing me again. Here's a text convo from a girl I dated three weeks ago:

(Context: I opened her at the local college and asked her where the humanities building was as my opener. Then I cut the bullshit and told her that I actually just wanted to talk to her because I thought she was cute)

Me (3 hours after meeting her): Finally found the humanities building lol

Her: Without my help, I'm sure. Haha.

(3 days later)

Me: Wassup dude! How's finals?

Her: Pretty intense. What's up?

Me: Perfect, I've come to save you! Study break tonite at 7pm. Yes...or yes?

Her: Haha! That's actually when my group's gonna meet up.

Me: Weak sauce.

Her: I know, haha.

Me: Well what time does your group orgy end tonite? We should at least talk on the phone if we can't hang.

Her: Hahahahaha really, "orgy?" We usually stay really late.

Her: Question for you, are you a libra or a scorpio?

Me: Yeah, I'm offended you didn't invite me. Are those my only choices? I think you're missing like 10 other signs dude.

Her: Sorry. Math and Science majors only (enters a really impressive smiley)

Her: And haha! Well, it's just my instinct. Either those two, or you're a Leo.

Me: Oh shit I'm stealing that smiley you just made! And you're way off. I'm an Aries.

Her: Me too, Aries powa!

Me: Good that means you work and party hard. Btw, I hope I'm not distracting you. And by that, I mean I hope I'm distracting you.

Her: I don't party that often so when I do I gotta go hard to make it up! And no you're not distracting me XD

Me: Good. Being distracted in an orgy is kinda disrespectful to everyone else. Are you free at all tomorrow?

Her: OMG lol! Yup I'm free from 3-7.

TADA. I was playful and teasing her right from the approach to the number close so I could gauge her sense of humor. Then I used that same sense of humor and playfulness during our text convo which leads to a date.

EDIT: Also wanted to add that I called her the next day to confirm. She said she was still down to meet up and I said "Ok, so do you like coffee more or tea more?" She said coffee so I said "Great because I know this really high-end coffee spot that not a lot of people know about. It's called Starbucks and its for VIPs only." She laughs and says "Yeah I think I've heard of that place before." So I say great, you need a ride or are you good? She says she'll drive herself and I tell her which Starbucks to meet me at.

Key is to keep things interesting and fun the whole time.

I am interested in hearing how you are proposing the dates, how much time has gone by since you acquired the #. I follow the no less than 24hrs, no more than 72hrs. For setting up dates... Learned the hard way.
