Ok, here is the scenario. You are on on gig, in the crowd, there are groups of HBs. I don't think approaching is a problem, specially before the start. The energy is usually very good, and everyone has something in commom (the artist).

But after the approach, after the main attraction started, things get messy: - It is different from a club, people are there to hear and see the performance. - If you go for the number early on. These events have low mobility, and the HB will still be around for around two hours. Things will get akward. - You can try to get physical, what I did once, and had a good grinding session on a DJ set. But escalating further was a problem, since we were focusing on the gig and eventually things wore off.

So this is the dilemma. Eyes on the artist or eyes on the girl? One can say that you should leave the pick up hat at home and just enjoy your artist. But cant I do both? It is a good thing watching a great gig, but doing so with a nice behind rubbing against you is considerable better, or making out, or getting to know a girl that is already into something you like...

On the other end, paying more attention to some HB then to what you are there to see communicates neediness.

I don't think there is a short answer for that, but I am interested to hear your thoughts and experiences.
