I started practicing daygame a couple of months ago. Now I feel less AA, but realized that I'm struggling with turning negative/neutral reactions into positive ones. If the girl is receptive, I can just talk for a couple of minutes and then go for a number, but more often than not girls are not that receptive.
After I opened and introduced me, I usually say "what are you up to?" Then if she says "I'm in a hurry," "I'm meeting with a friend so I gotta go" or something like that in a not-so-positive tone, I panic and can't hold a conversation. In these interactions, at least they respond to me at first, so I think I can do something with it, but I don't know how to turn these negative/neutral reactions into positive ones.
Here is an example of the failed approach.
Me: "Hey, I was just walking by and I saw you. I love your style so I just wanted to say hi."
She: "Thank you"
Me: "I'm NAME by the way" (extend my hand for handshake)
She: "I'm GIRL, nice to meet you" (handshake)
Me: "So, what are you up to" [Most of the approaches are the same up until this point, given that I was not ignored]
She: "I'm actually in a hurry" (Starts looking phone or walking)
Me: "Ah alight, have a good day"
