How do i resolve this conflict?

Your eyes aren't deceiving you. These are two different philosophies, that's why they're different.

Some of what Mystery laid out was great. Some of the thinking behind his method is problematic and leads to issues down the road. (Don't believe me, just look Mystery and Style up. The mother of Mystery's children won't let him near them. And Style couldn't stop himself from cheating on his wife.) But he really was/is a pioneer. He and some other guys really got the ball rolling and defined a lot of things, making it possible to have a conversation about all this in a more nuanced way.

Some thoughts about both of these methods you've mentioned:

Worrying about demonstrating higher value: actually a bad habit to get into. Knowing your own value: invaluable because having that kind of confidence leaks into everything you say and do. (Basically, this is a question of outer game vs inner game.)
Negging: not terribly important. It's good to have some humor and teasing is good and fun also. But negging someone to bring them down, is a problematic habit to get into because the underlying assumption is that you need to bring someone down in order to be good enough to interact with them.
Isolating the "target": Depends on the situation. Sometimes it might not be possible and then you have to make a decision as to whether you're in this to grind out numbers or make deep connections. If you just want fun, you leave the thing that's not developing quickly enough. If you want more, then you see something through a little longer, without worry about losing time you could be spending on a "sure thing."
Declaring intent verbally might be a bad, awkward idea, but showing intent through eye contact and proximity can be a pretty powerful thing. And you're demonstrating "value" through your confidence.
Also, building comfort is not bad.

Why dont you try out both, or create your own ideas and see what works best.

Mystery is a big guy with presence and is an entertainer, your personality might not work with that style of game.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the Mystery Method. Much of the material is outdated and very specific to Mystery's personal style. If it works for him, great, but I don't think it should be applied by general guys. "Natural" game is much more applicable and honest in most situations. Some women might respond really well to negs and DHV's, but others respond very well to open, unapologetic displays of intent.

Resolve the conflict by trying them out and doing what is congruent to you. Nobody has to use one style or another, and even guys like me who aren't a fan of the Mystery/90's style game can still pull ideas from that and mesh them with more modern applications.

MM is designed for night clubs which is a very artificial environment. In night clubs, games work a hell of a lot better than stating intent unapologeticically. As powerful as it is to unapologeticically show intent, it's not much fun. Clubs are for fun and if you are being serious in a place designed for fun, you're not gonna win. Alternatively in real life, if you play too many games, it's out of place as well. If you wear a fether jacket, airplane goggles to the supermarket and open with who lies more men or women to a shopper girl, she's gonna freak the fuck out, it's out of place.

MM was created for indirect gaming of women with high self-worth, and thus have high defenses. 60 is almost as old a system, but is more direct. I think you should understand both systems, they have their uses.

Just as an example, here is a rather lengthy essay I wrote about 60's method of "milking the intro."

You should remember that all PUA is somewhat opinionated sets of techniques. You should treat them this way and formulate your own strategy.

For indirect game (places like bars/clubs where the girls get lots of attention already) MM works perfectly since the girls are already overdosing on validation.

Direct game (daygame and those 2 AM pulls on the street) you gotta show the intent right off the bat if you wanna pull

Social circle game I usually approach a little differently: show that I'm interested but just be calm and patient, wait for her to hit me up to do something
