How much of flirting is conscious v Sub-Conscious on the woman's part?

I was in a situation a while back, where I had met my female friend, and her bf for drinks. My partner at the time came along and throughout the hour that we were there, it became more and more evident she was attracted to him.

-This included directing her body towards him

  • leaning in to hear him directly while seeming to forget myself and his gf were there

-genuinely smiling and laughing at his jokes/stories

  • throwing her hair over her shoulder and twirling her hair (this was the biggest giveaway as it was so blatant)

  • Caressing her neck and tilting her head to the side while twirling her hair

Honestly, I don't think she meant to, as these are all subconscious ways women flirt I'm told, but I couldn't help but feel angry and embarrassed a little in the situation. It was basically a two way conversation.

My question is, how much of the above actions were Sub-Conscious acts of flirting/attraction and which were a conscious decision?
