I haven’t chased pussy in a bar / club in 15 years (I’m now 65); but in all the time I did I never had success pulling a gal away from a group so learned to ignore groups. Only once did I see a group of gals that were bar hopping with the serious intent to get one of them laid; I paid attention from a distance until I learned which of the gals was the one to hopefully get lucky — & she wasn’t particularly attractive to me so I moved on.

My thoughts about girl groups in a bar? Forget it.

Biggest thing with approaching a group is you need to engage them all. If the freinds don’t like you, then you aren’t getting the girl you like in that group. They will begin to cockblock you if you piss them off or ignore them. If you win them over though, you’ll find they will actually begin to help you get there friend. So just focus on having fun and making your intentions clear.

Get them to take a photo with you. Have the girl you want take the photo and converse with one of her friends first.

I've gone at it alone, because I didn't really give a crap, but if I wanted to save time and actually increase the likelihood of success, I would approach with a friend. Even if he just stands next to me while I talk. I'd approach twos and threes alone, but four or more you need a wing man if you're focused on talking to who you are attracted to.

The other part of that question is the getting the cutest girl, or the skinniest fat girl, depending on the crowd.

Don't quit, though, try to see if you can approach her alone later after you've already introduced yourself to her group.

If you’re alone it’s very hard. You’ll have to engage the whole group, hook the whole group, then find out their logistics, isolate the girl you are interested in, pass shit tests and cock blocking friends and then being the girl home. These are all difficult when you have to do it with a group of girls, best to have a wingman or 2 to approach with, makes the process much easier

Walk up to the group and have a "group compliment." Something like "you guys looking fucking amazing, I would say you are the best dressed friend group in the whole bar." Sometimes I add something like "y'know, it's interesting how most groups of girls usually have a particular level of fashion they all reach." Get them all engaged, but quickly shift to a particular one. You don't want to look like you are just a friendly guy who likes talking to people.

Approach the one you want. Doing anything other than that is just finding excuses and not going from point a to b in the shortest path possible.
