Find yourself another girlfriend.

Depression or not, long distance no intimacy and 2 years trying you’re fighting a loosing battle. She needs to work on herself. And if she does improve you may find she is no longer interested. Sorry but you seem too invested in something that’s not gonna end well for you. I’ve been in an almost identical situation. I’m not saying this advice based solely from my own experience. I’m saying it also from the hundreds and hundreds of similar stories I read in a support group for people with bipolar/depressed partners. And they all said the same. And everything clicked, her intensity, her ability to lash out then withdraw into herself. Her ability to be manic and spontaneous and exciting and then not want to talk. For it to be my fault followed by an apology for being such a bitch. I realised I was never going to change her. She soon disappeared just like everyone warned me and never spoke to me again. And like a chum I spent 6 years getting over someone who had already forgotten I existed. Chronically depressed partner can be a disaster. Long distance can be a disaster. The two combined. Good luck!!

Dude what do you expect, it’s a long distance relationship. That doesn’t work 99% of the time, specially when you are both young.

Care to elaborate?
[–]CompetitionFair7686 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
“Your last hope”… If that’s what you think then i guarantee you she is highly unlikely to have sex with you.

....this was a joke....I wasn't expecting serious replies to this one man

Just get over her... Looking back after some years you'll be thanking yourself for letting go. It's way better for your mental health and it'll also help you to learn how to let go. It's very important. Take this decision of letting go and sort it out. Have patience you'll be having lots of sex and more than you even thought about with even way more prettier and hotter women.

Long distance rarely works and it sounds like this girl has issues and 2yrs without really doing anything. You need to move on OP. Find a girl within driving distance. There are plenty of woman out there
Nah, it's more like, she does k ow and tries to get better, it's just, things happen in a way that whenever things are starting to look better, something bad happens again and again

Brother you need to wake up, and get out of this relationship for both of your sakes. Long distance relationships can work, but are very difficult! Mix this with depression, insecurity, ect and it's very easy to go down a bad road. It's very clear from your writing you're in a scarcity mentality, and that's not a health base for any relationship. You two can absolutely love each other but come to a consensus that perhaps this isn't the right moment in time. This is what adults do, and you should strive to understand life will continue on. Beyond what I said above if someone is struggling with depression you can support them in every way possible, but you can't be the one to "fix" them-her struggles are her struggles. A close buddy of mine committed suicide a few years ago, and I held onto guilt for the longest time wishing I would have done more. Truthfully at the end of the day his choice was his choice, and as painful as it was, learning to let go was essential to move on for me. This doesn't have to be the end, but simply just a pause.

I don't aim to fix her, infact I've tried to help her with that and I did come to understand that I can't.......I want to simply be there for her...to let her know that I believe in her, and no matter what happens, this'll stay the same......that's what I think

Well if living your life in misery (that's what it kind of sounds like) is what you want to do then live your best life. Keep in mind everyone here is telling you it's probably best to move on with your life because this isn't healthy for you. Remember the point of struggling in life is to learn and grow from it. Don't let fear or complacency hold you back from living your life.

One thing to remember is that the root of all fear is that you won’t be able to survive the change. That an irreversible decision will be unbearable. This however is a lie. Fear is false evidence appearing real for this reason.
You are likely younger where every decision somehow seems infinitely terrifying and earth shattering. The reality you will come to know is that your life is and will continue to be filled with variables. And for the most part their effects are temporary or tolerable.
Work on yourself. You are attracting who you are not what you want. Don’t get caught up in the lies you are choosing to believe. Own your life and your decisions or it will own you. All the best.
I'm not worried that I won't survive the change.......I rather, done want to leave the person I love, and I know for a fact that me leaving will have the worst effect on her, because I know I'm the only one she has.

open your relationship so both of you can explore. her anxiety might be stemming from sexual frustration.
I don't think it's anxiety tho.....like everytime she tries to feel better, something or another happens, and she goes back to her shell...
