Having established some very open pillow talk with a few female "online daters", I can tell you this: A lot of what women are doing and saying via DMs is for entertainment and validation purposes, primarily, not to meet up necessarily.
When you try to push the interaction into the "real world", a lot of casual online flirts will bail, as it is just too real and the rapport hasn't been established yet. You might be too quick to the punch.
Rather than asking if they want to meet, and then following it up with concrete plans and places, leave it open ended for a bit and continue chatting. Confirm their intention to meet with you, then casually continue chatting for the sake of comfort building. It gives them a little breathing room to digest the idea, and it gives you time to find something fun to do, rather than scheduling a standard date. Figure out some common interests, and then suggest you and her do something relevant to your shared interests together, as opposed to being "a dating app guy who wants to meet for drinks". Once she says yes to the idea of meeting up, you can rest assured she will meet up with you when you establish a bit more of a connection. You must make the effort to be cool and fun as opposed to eager and out to get laid (this is the assumption, and these opportunities are a dime a dozen for most high quality women)
Of course, some girls are eager to meet up right off the bat, because they want to fuck. These ones will just say yes, and quite frankly, are rarer and likely seeing multiple men on a casual basis, which might be the type of effort:reward ratio you are looking for.
Good luck, bro!

This is subtle but when asking
"Are you free" vs "when are you free"
You are forcing them into yes or no compliance and if they are at all unsure they will give you a no. "Are you free to go out" is almost the same question as "do you like me?" in their minds
Asking "when are you free" allows them to contemplate what would be more convenient for them, gives them room to think and does not demand yes or no compliance
Also, "when are you free" displays subtle confidence because you're assuming attraction

Hmm all good points. I'll give this a try
[–]fudgeredpill 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Disagree. Women don't want to think about these things, they want you to lead. Make plans, offer her a choice. If she's interested she'll say yes, else she'll say no and and counter offer when she's free. Everything else is a no.

So I do take the lead. I'm literally talking to a girl now on tinder and asked her out.
Me: Are you free to hangout this week? I feel like we vibe pretty well.
Her: I would love to
Me: Lets do tomorrow night at 7pm at xxx. Does that work for you?
Her: I've never heard of it
Me: It's a low key spot near xxxxx. I've been there and it's always a fun crowd.
Her: Oh fun
I'm so fucking confused here.

you could have skipped the first part ... but in the end it doesnt matter. if she wants to go out with you she will say yes... good second part.
everything good bro.

is this for hookups or a relationship? either way, personally i’d wanna chat for a few days and confirm the convo is still good and what not before getting asked to meet up. if he asks to meet up the same day we match i feel like he’s desperate or pushy.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
No I don't ever ask to meetup the same day and sometimes the conversation can go on for a couple of days. The only time I would meetup on the same day is if the girl asks first.

are you specific as far as what you’re looking for?
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I mean it's a dating app so I think it's pretty straightforward that I'm just looking to date. Whatever happens happens imo, but I don't want to put anyone under pressure by telling them I'm looking for a relationship.
I'm honestly just casually dating.

i totally get what you’re saying & there’s nothing wrong with doing that. but i think it depends on the woman you’re talking to tho. some are probably in the same mindset as you and some aren’t. i can’t stand when men say that on chat or in their bio. whether i’m looking for something worthwhile or fwb, i want them to tell me exactly what they want and i’ll tell them what i want, then we can see if it’s even worthwhile meeting up. personally, if you just said that in chat i would probably also ghost, it’s just incredibly vague. and i also find someone not knowing what they’re looking for a massive turn off, this is just me tho!

i want them to tell me exactly what they want
Wouldn't that be too direct abd scare away most women
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
i don’t see how anyone can be too direct tbh. i met fiancé on bumble, i asked what he was looking for and he said he’s tired of wasting his time and that he’s looking for someone to have a real meaningful long lasting relationship. it was refreshing as hell to hear someone be so forward
[–]loofyd 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
So a guy should state what they're looking for in the initial stages of a conversation ?
yes, so should the woman i think. playing games is dumb af. just cut to the chase. this is just my opinion tho

Well said

It’s probably better to specify a day that you’re free. If they aren’t free they will let you know and suggest another day.
I've tried this and I've found being flexible to what time/day works for them is a lot easier. I have the ability to move stuff around in my schedule, so I want to make it easy for them to setup dates.
[–]ExpensiveNinja 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You’re missing the point. If they’re interested they will move their schedule around to see you. You being openly free to any day she chooses also makes you look like you got nothing better to do.
Or just keep doing what you’re doing and see if that 90% failure rate comes down.
If you get ignored, just block them and move onto the next. You will eventually get someone who wants to meet. Ask to meet them right away too, within the first day or 2. If a girl is serious about dating she will want to meet you and anyone else is just getting off on your attention.
