TLDR; At bottom

20 Years old Newbie here who's reading Models and all other books. My mission is not to bang every female in sight and what not. I'm just attempting to branch out and getting friendly with females. I'm naturally introverted and shy. I rarely like to break my shell and avoid people. I do end up becoming close friends to those who sit in my table on campus.

I say that my inner voice or subconscious is my worst enemy. It focuses on the negative and freezes my body. An example would be speechs for class, I wouldn't go until things were ready and even then, I'd avoid it. Not surprisingly when it was my turn, I had no fear and I proceeded to get A's on the speech for eye contact, voice and subject matter. Or when someone suggested I perform at some open mic night. I tried to prolong it but when it was my turn, I messed up a few lines but still got applaud for rhyming and smooth speed.

Or at Campus when I see people who normally would be non-receptive to company become friendly after chatting a bit. It just tells me that no one is evil or going to reject me on being friendly. Yet, I can't eliminate this dominate fear on interacting to strangers. Any personal stories?

TLDR; Got irrational fear when things aren't bad. It fucks up my social abilities. Tips on breaking the shell?
