I'm an Indian-american guy with full sleeve tattoos, longer hair, and I like rock music,. However, the type of girl I'm attracted to seems to be the opposite of me - blonde, blue eyed, no piercings/tats, and has a "girl next door" kind of vibe. If you google "sorority girl" you'll get an idea of my type.

Yet I've found that through going out (before covid) and online dating, these types of girls wouldn't be that interested in me. Sure I might get a make out here and there or we have a great time over drinks but that's as far as things would go. A few girls would say "you look so interesting!" but it's more of a curiosity rather than an attraction.

Meanwhile, when I meet girls that look more "alternative" at venues like rock concerts I seem to do much better. I barely put in any effort and they often ask for my numbers first and the interactions progress longer into multiple dates, longer relationships, etc. (compared to just barely being able to get a 1st date with the sorority girls).

Would I need to change parts of myself to "fit in" with my ideal type of girl or do I just need to accept it might be harder to get girls that are the opposite of me?
