Heard it from some dating coach on the internet but don't know if it's true

This is what he says: If a man pretend that he is in a relationship AND/OR pretend that he is NOT attracted to the woman that he is trying to ask out, the woman prolly would find him more attractive.

If u think it is true, would it work for men who are slightly below average in looks and slightly below average income (like 6/10) to attract average or slightly above average women (like 7 to 8)?

Also if a man is pretending that he is already in a relationship AND/OR he is not attracted to the woman, how would it make sense for him to ask a woman out. What would a 7/10 woman think when a 6/10 man appears to be in a relationship and appears to NOT attracted to her, and still try to ask her out.
