Double Text Advice?

You really should text more or less immediately after getting her phone number. It's weird to wait arbitrarily for 2 days before reaching out, and she will lose interest

Personally I would just go for a follow up text here. I think the "never double text" advice is not as hard of a line as most guys here seem to think it is.

"dont ever double text" is the 2025 version of 1996's "wait 3 days after meeting her to call."

In other words: bad advice

Women are CONSTANTLY complaining about guys who arent persistent, get butthurt whenever she gets busy or misses a message, or gives up at the first sign that she isn't head over heels for him. Super unattractive.

That doesnt mean be needy, of course, but the rule I give my students is:

First time she doesnt reply to a text, wait 1-2 days and text back, but do not acknowledge that she didnt get back to you. Start a new conversational thread the way you do with a guy friend if youre reaching out to say whats up.

Second (consecutive) non-response, wait 5-7 days and reinitiate with something funny, engaging, or witty. If she still doesnt respond at this point, let it go. Do NOT delete her number, because you'll want some context in case she texts you like 3 months later (which does happen sometimes). But just write it off as a connection that isn't going to work right now.

Some guys will say that any re-initiation is needy, but disregard that and remember the rule of neediness:

"Neediness is not what you do. It's why you do it."

As long as you're re-initiating without an emotional need for her to reply or to like you, you're fine. Look at it through the lens of "im practicing and getting reps in so that when i meet a girl i REALLY like, i've got the experience and skills to get her."

If you’re going to double text, wait a little bit and create a hook. Your suggestion about something funny from your previous chat is good, but I recommend creating anticipation for your date. Maybe even consider changing up the plans.

“Make sure you wear comfortable shoes, there’s some really neat boutiques in the area.”

“Hey there’s a pottery class Thursday night, would you be interested in joining me there instead/afterwards?”

“Im looking forward to hearing about what you think of this restaurant, did you know they’ve been in business for over 80 years and the flan recipe has never changed? We’re going to have to try it!”

Obviously cater this to what works for where you’re going. Woman get invited on dates all the time, so stand out a little. She already knows you and the vibe, so create a little anticipation, or shake things up! If she’s worried about your level of commitment and that’s her apprehension, the thought behind your message is going to speak for itself and put her mind to rest.

Make it short, sweet, and exciting.

Don’t double text. She saw your message right away and its been about 2 days now. If she wants to get back to you, she will.

Otherwise shes not interested, because best believe she is getting back to guys she is highly interested in within the day.
