There are loads of articles talking about how important it is to talk to everyone in order to feel more social comfortable.

However, sometimes you're walking down the street and unexpectedly see an HB in the wild - beautiful and free. You might open your mouth and your atrophied vocal chords squawk out something with the unmistakably diffident chode-tone.

Sometimes there is no one around but you and an HB and you have to accelerate from 0-100 in 3 seconds.

I've been there many times and have found a hack. I learned this from a smooth natural that I always see around my job. All the ladies love this guy (they tell me this frequently). This beautiful man does something that exudes the confidence of an exotic bird in the wild - He whistles to himself.

That's right - the guy whistles happily to himself while he walks. That is all. The first time I noticed it, I was a bit shocked and thought it was dumb.

Then I tried it. Walking down the street. Browsing the aisles at the supermarket. Wherever. I noticed that it actually made me happy and made me comfortable, removing that stale awkward feeling I sometimes get in public, the feeling that dogs the unexpected approach.
