Hey guys, so I've been working on taking to everyone and just being friendly.

A few days ago I was talking to this HB salesperson at the store, I asked her about an item I was considering, and she actually suggested that it's not very good and I should not buy it. We get into a nice conversation and talked about how much we are looking forward to going to the beach. Then for some reason, mid-conversation, I just kinda unconsciously eject, say goodbye and leave like I'm in a hurry. I was not in a hurry. Second time this happened. Maybe it's a carry-over from what I read about the club game where you don't linger but make a comment and leave, but in day game you can't really do that?

As I was leaving I thought I should go back and ask her for her number, I know it's not ideal and you gotta work the conversation to make her offer her number, so I was totally prepared to fail, but just wanted to treat it as experience and thicken my skin. She says let me get your instead and wrote it down (I should've probably given my business card here). Does that mean that she didn't want to give her number, but just decided to take mine so I don't feel bad? I don't really care, I go in with a mindset of not expecting anything, but I hope the more I do it the easier it gets.

Also, when it comes to taking out your phone, do you type it in yourself? I read some people suggesting handing her the phone, but when I tried that previously it went kinda awkward, she didn't really know how to work the touch screen and the female friends I talked to said they don't like when a guy hands them his phone.
