Effusive and frequent verbal expressions of affection will lower your partner’s attraction over time.

Even if what you are expressing is sincere and authentic, a constant stream of compliments and verbal confirmations of your feelings will begin lose their meaning.

The superfluous praise might be viewed as insecure, needy, or insincere—even if it is ultimately well-intentioned. The lines between emotional vulnerability and overbearingness can get blurred if restraint isn’t applied.

A more powerful way of expressing affection that increases attraction is through action that demonstrates:

  • You listen intently and remember details

  • You take initiative and put effort into planning activities

  • You are spontaneous and creative

  • You are sexually and emotionally drawn to her.

If you are feel compelled to verbalize how you feel, there is no reason self-edit or repress yourself; however, compliments are only needed occasionally if you are effectively and sincerely demonstrating through action that the other person is important to you.

  • Come up with initial date plans (place, time, day of week, etc). Show you give a damn about spending time with her.

  • Flirt, express desire through your eyes, body language, and touch.

  • Be spontaneous, make plans and but keep it a surprise sometimes

  • Do things that she may enjoy but you might not, and vice versa. Going outside of each other’s respective comfort zones occasionally develops a bond.

  • Recall minor details she has told you, details that she might not expect you to remember.
