A few articles I've read suggested trying out eye contact to get out of your inner shyness shell. I've been trying this for about a month now. I work in NYC and often have to travel across midtown which is about a mile walk. As you could imagine, during rush hour I must see a thousand people. I sometimes walk or take the subway. I've read a few different strategies on how to be successful with this. One article suggested that as soon as you notice her, look in her eyes and if she smiles, smile back. Another said to start the smile first. In either case this is not working out for me. Almost every female in NYC stares DEAD straight ahead and doesn't look at ANYONE. I'm not talking just super 9s and 10s, white or black, old or young. It's like the women in NYC, while going to and from work are trained to stare at some invisible dot dead ahead. Anyone else have the same experience?
