Ok, so heres what you did.

*the good: * after getting her number, you made a time bridge (made some kind tentative plan before leaving - a reason to meet up again).

the bad: you waited too long to text her. while your friend might be a good guy, hes probably an AFC. i like to make plans with a girl ASAP after getting a number, because any attraction you had drops with time.

I think you should have a better day 2 than dinner at a restaurant.. try to find something that shows your personality better.. everyone eats. it is such a boring date. do something that interests you and then get drinks afterwards/before depending on the activity. if you like to cook, cook a meal together. trivia nights are fun, a lot of bars have them. if you know an abandoned rooftop with a good view, make that one of the destinations on your date (but for the love of god, you will creep her out if you invite her to go to a rooftop with you-i learned that one the hard way, but the place does have a great view) if you like rock climbing, go do that (bonus kino for spotting her). avoid activities like movies, concerts, etc etc.

the ugly:

you asked her if "she would let you take her out." This is not the mindset you want. YOU are letting HER tag along to whatever you are doing.

Sounded like you had asked her to dinner but then sounded like you just got her to agree to the possibility of dinner. You needed to get a commitment sooner. You waited almost an entire week during which time any attraction you had built up was lost.

Quick thing:

"hey. hope your week is going well. Wanted to know if you still wanted to let me take you out sometime soon".

This is not the best thing to say for a few reasons. You're saying to her that her time and company is more valuable to you than yours is to her. This is not good (or accurate judging by the fact you do seem like a fairly busy guy).

I'm not going to give you examples of things to write since ultimately all this stuff should fit your personality and voice but in general I think its best for your own self-esteem and sanity to take the attitude of "i can meet up with you at (specific location) at (specific time), you can't make it, whatever, I don't have time to waste".

Your problem was waiting WAY too long to text her, and then texting her this showstopper text message:

hey. hope your week is going well. Wanted to know if you still wanted to let me take you out sometime soon
