Escalating fast can make you appear urgent and not preselected, hence make the girl not feel safe. If you are her exact physical type she will disregard the concept temporarily and actually expect fast escalation, then after sleeping together and the blinders come off she senses the urgency. This is why alot of girls will not look for a repeat performance with guys that escalate quick and got into bed with them on physicality alone.

Slow escalation is good for appearing preselected and outcome independent, and not urgent and can turn a guy that is a 7 into a 9 in her eyes....but if you are already a 10 she will take you being slow as an insult because she expects that fast escalation.

With all that said, it depends on what you want. For one night stands, talk to girls who make it obvious that they think that you are so good looking, you can get her by simply existing...then escalate fast.

The question you are asking is a complex one, because what to do relies on the context of the situation and what you want as a PUA. Escalation can be controlled, you set the speed for escalation. So there is no right or wrong way. Just see what suits you better and decide for yourself.

The best alternative is to calbrate the speed of escalation depending on the type of the girl, this topic is called microcalibration. You can see my post on that if you want to implement some of the skills inside, but its mostly unecessary complexity.
