How do you properly feel when to get a girl's number?

Recently I have been focusing on developing new interests and getting fit. I have not been actively pursuing women.

However... when out girls now engage me, which is nice. Or I'm vibing so well I notice a girl(s) become attracted to me.

I make the most of these opportunities but... stumble on getting a girls number. A lot has to do with timing... ask too early I seem overly eager. Wait too long and getting digits seems to be harder, because you lose in "newness" of the relationship.

I know some of the good tactics, give her your number. Let her know what the plan is. Give her your phone have her enter it.

In the moment... I rarely think to do these! :) I am natural and make my intentions clear, ie not looking for LJBF.

How do you feel when to grab a girls number? What can I do to improve this key part of my game?
