As the title says, this is my first ever cold approach. It's not that I've really been bad with women, just too shy to go up to them myself. I've been searching all day for a girl that piqued my intrest but to no avail. But tonight I tried something daring and went to ihop alone and did an approach on my waitress. I know most people here would probably advise against that but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Summary of the approach:

We talked about some of the things on the menu and I asked if she'd recommend me anything. She recommended this monster burger as a joke and I jokingly told her I'm not trying to get diabetes. I then told her maybe I'd get it if she sat with me and helped. She said she couldn't but now she knows I'm interested in her in some way. After that she brought me what I actually ordered and once I finished brought the receipt, but I said something was missing. And when she asked what I said her number on the receipt. Then she gave it to me and I left with a successful beginning to my journey

Something I've learned from this is to not think too hard about what to say because more times than not the first things that came to my mind were the right things, but when I thought too hard about it things got a bit dicey luckily it didnt cost me anything though.
