Recently I was chatting with the slightest shy, maybe a bit autistic girl, we got along pretty well - but whenever I would push the envelope a bit e.g. ask for a date in person, make a suggestive/slightly sexual joke she'd shut down/stop responding. Does she just need much longer to warm up? Do I avoid these jokes entirely with girls like this? And if I do, then how else do I escalate the conversation? Thanks for reading!
