I decided to try to go out on my own again. I was kinda hoping to hook up with a friend, so I contacted a few guys and got invited to a couple of pre-parties. However, I figured out that I probably had a better chance of meeting someone out on my own, so I declined politely and said that we should keep in touch and perhaps meet later.

At about 20:30 I went to bar number 1, which was a cool place, but there wasn't that many people there. I got a beer and sat down at a table, pulled up my phone and browsed seddit. Nothing happened, should have talked to someone to warm up. Felt awkward.

At 21:00 I leave for bar number 2. Got another beer and sat down at the bar to read a newspaper. I felt tired and not in state. At one point a girl came over to the bar next to me and ordered something. I saw the bartender pouring wine, and I asked her if she was the one getting wine. She said yes and smiled. I said "wow, classy!" and she smiled again. I then said "I was actually working at a bar this summer, and during my spare time I calculated that the wine was cheaper per unit alcohol than beer", to which she replied "well, that's not why I'm drinking it." I replied "yeah, I guess it's all about the taste." She got her drinks and left. In retrospect I should have blown that out of proportion somehow. Made her laugh.

Out of chance some people I know show up in the bar, and I hang around with them for a while. They are all the typical AFC type and honestly not that fun. I hang with them anyway. I get a coke in an attempt to wake up. It didn't work, and I didn't approach anyone else besides a few comments in the line for the restroom. Finally I say goodbye. On the way out I see several sets of cute girls and I kick myself for not having the balls to go talk to them.

At 23:30 I get a Red bull from a kiosk and walk to bar number #3. A friend of mine told me he was going there. I got a beer and went to the restroom. Met a heartbroken guy there who just recently broke up with his girlfriend. Tried to make him feel better. I sit down with some girls, and after sitting there for a while I say to one of the girls "hi, can I talk to you for a while while I wait for my friends?" and she smiles and say yes. I was still not in state, but managed to keep the conversation more or less going. I asked her what she thought about the picture on the wall (it was a really weird picture with a naked old man on a bicycle and other various weird stuff. She was a bit weirded out and didn't really know what to say.) Eventually the girls decide to leave. On their way out I grab her arm and pull her towards me, asking her where they were going now. This apparently made her more interested, and she told me they were going to bar x, which I hadn't heard of. Should have sat next to her instead of opposed to her, allowing more kino, then asked for her number on a high note.

At 00:30 my friend texts me and says that they went to the bar next door instead, so I head over there. I say hi to his friends and hang around for a while. Eventually I walk over to this mixed set where a couple of girls are talking to each other. I say hi to one of them and point out how funny it was that their group hadn't gotten any attention till around 1 o'clock, when some dudes apparently got drunk enough to have the balls to come over to talk to them. This was apparently a good opener. She laughed and asked me if I was drunk too, as I was talking to them. I exaggerated a bit (I wasn't that drunk), but should have exaggerated more by saying that I were unable to stand and needed help walking home, or something. My friend is leaving and I decide to come with, leaving the girls. They were lukewarm at best, but I probably should have stayed and talked more.

At around 01:30 we got to bar #5, which was a loud and crowded place. I chilled out for a while and then went over to a girl I saw. I was in state now, not sure what happened. The Red bull definitely played a part, and the alcohol probably helped too, although I hadn't been drinking that much. I opened with "hi, are you having fun?" and she said sure. I told her that this bar was kinda sketchy and that one of my friends had seen a guy doing coke in the restrooms. (which was true) We continued talking and she was a fun girl. She was texting once in a while, and during these periods I talked to her overweight friend about buying drinks for girls. She told me that as a guy, I would have to double my daily beer budget for buying drinks for girls, to which I replied "no, that doesn't work!" She insisted that it did, so I then went on to say "well, I haven't bought you anything, and you're pretty attracted to me". She said "well, yeah, but blah blah blah". Too bad I wasn't interested in her. Anyway, I was about to ask for the hot girl's phone number when she told me they were going out for a smoke, so I let them go. They never returned and I was kicking myself for not asking for her number sooner.

On the way home I saw this super hot girl walking alone behind me. I stopped and said "hi, is this the road to the city center?" (even though I knew it was, haha!) We talked about directions and landmarks for a while and being in state I spoke clearly and fluently for a change. We talked some more on the way and even though it was just for a few minutes I felt that we had a connection. We then went our separate ways and I smiled and said it was great meeting her, and she smiled and replied with the same. A few minutes later I was kicking myself for not trying to ask for her phone number. She most likely wouldn't have given it to me. But I should have tried.

For next time: learn how to get in state!

These FRs are mostly for my own sake and I don't know how much there is to learn from them. I'd love to get some comments and suggestions, though.
