Hey seddit, today marks day 3 of my 8 week challenge to get over approach anxiety. To do this, my goal is to approach at least two girls a day. Yesterday's post can be found here

Girl 1

I met this girl on a crowded bus to one of my classes. I noticed an attractive girl standing near me. I offered her my seat, to which she accepted. I then started a conversation, asking her where she was headed, what year she was, lightly teasing her and holding a pretty good conversation. This time around, I made (and held) eye contact with her. As we got off the bus, I suggested we keep in touch, and asked for her number. She gave it to me, and we parted ways.

Girl 2

This girl was sitting at my math discussion table along with two of my peers. It was clear she was an introvert. Unlike my previous approaches, I didn't try to open her with a discussion. All of us worked together, with me and another guy mostly leading the discussion. The other guy talked a lot, while I stayed mostly quiet in an attempt to 'match her energy'. As the class went on, she opened up to everyone and I started to open up to her too. I lightly teased her and made conversation with her, with her even playfully hitting me. After class, I got her number and we parted ways. Like I did with girl 1, I made eye contact with her as opposed to looking around as I used to do when I talked to people.

Self-analysis/tl;dr

It may sound silly, but eye-contact really seems to seal the deal. I think both interactions went pretty well, though more practice in holding exciting/better conversations would be great. Side note, I got the number of the very first girl from day 1 of my challenge.

Anyway, thanks for reading, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
