My Background: 27 year old, 6'2 tall brown guy. Got in the game 2 months ago by watching youtube videos and learning from them. Started doing cold approaches few weeks ago and still learning.

My goal was to approach 5 girls today in the mall. I dressed up and looked my best that I could regarding my outfit, shoes and a bomber jacket. I was feeling very confident. However, I could only approach 3 girls, the reason that I’ll explain later.

1st girl: I approached her as she was walking. Used my general opener. Hey, I was passing by and saw you look cute so I had to come say hi. She said thanks. At this time I didn’t know what else to say so I asked, doing last minute shopping? She said yea. I asked again how are you celebrating your thanksgiving (pretty general question that I shouldn’t have asked). She said with family. Then I ran out of things to say so I tried to eject and said ok I gotta run but do you want to hangout sometimes? She said she has a boyfriend sorry. I said ok no problem. Enjoy your evening.

2nd girl, My best set: A girl working in the sunglasses shop. She was the only one working in the store and there were no customers. So I saw an opportunity and went up to her to talk to her. I opened with “Hi, I actually don’t need anything from the store but I was passing by and saw you. You look cute so I had to come say Hi. She was very receptive and positive. She laughed and said thank you that’s so sweet of you. I continued my conversation with how boring the store looked and you are working through the holiday. She says yea its’ not that bad. I asked if she’ll be celebrating thanksgiving with friends or family she said both. She has some plans with friends tonight and will be with family tomorrow. Then I said oh wait I just got a text from your manager saying that you can close the store early and come with me for a coffee. That made her laugh and she was like no you didn’t. I said how does 7 PM sounds? She said she is going out with her friends tonight. At this time my confident sky rocketed as I was getting a positive reply. I immediately told her I gotta run but would you want to hangout sometime later? She said I already have a boy but you are really sweet. Then I left the set.

3rd girl/woman: I spotted her from behind and figure looked great. I walked by her and said opened with my general opener. She looked older than me (I am 27) around 35-40 year old but she was hot. She said thank. She looked at me weirdly like why are you here? I asked her name and replied with mine. Then She said ok by and walked off in the opposite direction.

At this time, I wanted to finish my goal of approaching 5 girls but after 2 negative reactions I lost my confident and even though I saw some other girls walk by me , I didn’t approach and came back home.

Things I could’ve done better: with the sunglasses shop girl, I shouldn’t have asked her for a coffee at 7 PM tonight (knowing she was prob working till mall closes). When she was laughing at my conversations, I should’ve continued longer with more topics instead of asking her to hangout and trying to eject.

Things I need to improve on: how to keep conversation going, what to say after girl doesn’t show much interest after my opener.

Let me know if you guys think of any other things that I need to improve upon or any suggestions.

TL:DR - approached 3 girls instead of my goal of 5. One girl with positive reaction but I ejected early since I ran out of things to say. 2 girls with negative responses and I didn’t know what to say after my opener and continue the conversation.
