Hey Bro's another Friday night another FR. So here is the deal, my sweet tailored suit came in the other day and to be honest it's completely baller, It has a tinge of red on the inside of the blazer jacket too. And it was a gift, so I wanted to wear it out the whole look good feel good thing. The target tonight, Fells Point in Baltimore. Usually I don't hang out in b-more for the reasons that you will see.

I rolled up to Fells Point at around 11:15 pm right when I noticed that this area gets crowded. I went out alone of course because my wingmen are pre-occupied with life stuff so I just leave them to it and go out alone. It's kind of my "MO" at this point so I am basically used to it. I do look pretty damn dapper in this suit, and after I parked and made my way to the bars I noticed some people were in decent blazers/sports jackets but not many in full on suits like me, some were though. I called my brother up for him to hype me up a bit because honestly I needed it. I did feel confident but I wasn't really willing to talk to people I was happy in my little bubble. And he did an amazing job revving me up and getting me into the game! Shout outs to my lil' bro! After the call I went into the first bar, all of the bars in the areas are taverns for the most part since they are all right near the water and they all play to that theme. I got a drink and just observed as I typically do when I first hit start for the night, I looked around saw who was with whom, what the general populous is like and the vibe I feel.
Most of the girls had guys already, like BF/GF type deal, some of them were older and the rest were either unattractive to me or completely guarded, as in it would be very hard to force my way in for an approach. After walking upstairs and seeing nothing (the crowd in general was a bit sparse tonight) I made my way back downstairs and saw a group of 3 cute looking girls and a couple of dudes with them. I thought, why the hell not and sort of "forced" my way into their circle. I just said something along the lines of "Excuse me, you guys mind if I hang with you? I'm waiting on my friends and didn't want to look weird in the corner." Right about here is where everything went to SHIT. Yes the night started out completely shit within the first 20 minutes. I go around the little circle and introduce myself pretty normal stuff "Hi my name is Kenic, and yours?" blah blah blah. Until I got to the third girl, her name was Patricia and these girls were all from Columbia. There was loud music playing and I don't think she heard me the first time as she just looked at me funny, I said again while holding out my hand to her "Hi, my name is Kenic and yours?" Things became very awkward as she now stared at me funny. Then suddenly she snapped, I quote "WHY ALWAYS HELLO, HELLO, HELLO, I TOLD YOU MY NAME ALREADY!!!!" Her friend that was sitting next to her realized that this girl was being completely rude for no real reason and said "He can't hear you that's why he asked" she says "Oh" and then gives me a really shitty kind of hand shake. I was honestly taken aback at this because I've never had a girl snap on me before just for saying Hi. Really blew my mind, but I let it go for the most part and started talking to the guys in the group. I wasn't flirting just yet, just trying to warm up for the night but I did make a mental note of the hostility of these girls.
So I decided to chat with the guys for a bit as I was talking to these dudes they were real chill, and one of them was from Syria of all places. Was pretty cool in general, the other was from Bmore, typical white dude but he was friendly enough. The Colombian girl sitting next to him kept whispering into his ear while looking at me awkwardly. She then forcefully started to hold his hand and tug on his shirt as he and I were talking in a way as if I was making her super uncomfortable, I really don't understand as i didn't talk to her at all aside from my introduction. After a few more minutes of this I had enough of the looks and the whispering and being made into some sort of bad guy. So I made up an excuse that my friends were here and at a different bar and I had to go. I said my quick goodbyes and ejected out of the bar completely.
This interaction basically soured my mood but I did what I could to shake it off. Onto the next bar, I went to this place called "Barcina" or some shit which was really close by, ordered another drink and walked on in. This place was also sparse with people but the girls were more attractive. I saw these two girls, a black chick and a Hispanic chick that I was sort of interested in sitting alone on one side of the bar I approached the both of them mighty smoothly I might add and we were off onto a actual halfway decent conversation. They're names were Lisa and get this shit Jimmy. This girl "Jimmy" probably gave me a fake name but Lisa assured to me it was real, I didn't buy it thought but I had nothing else to go on so that's her name. They were both waiting on dates and Lisa's date was already there but she was making him wait for no apparent reason so I continued to chat them up before Lisa decided to go meet her date. This left me and this Jimmy girl. The convo was halfway decent and it flowed sort of ok, up until I decided not to get oneitis and walk around a bit more to see what else was at this bar. I told her "I am going to walk around for a bit but I'll be right back!" to which she replied "OK BYE" like a :By felecia: sort of bye. it was snarky and honestly full of "fuck you go away" I totally didn't get it so I asked her what was up and did some real light friendly Kino. She just continued to say "it's fine go. BYE!" I just said "ok" and left, it was very weird I didn't understand the hostility.
I walked around the bar and noticed how all of these cliques were everywhere and loads of these girls had their boyfriends with them, they were clinging to them like white on rice. I made my way back to the area with Jimmy but didn't talk to her as she turned out to be an asshole to me for no reason and I didn't want to give her another chance at treating me like that. So I talked to these other cute black girls that were sitting at a table alone, I asked them if they were waiting for anyone and they just said that they were alone. We talked for a bit then I left as I had no real interest in them and they had this clique secret club thing going between the two of them. After I left they were excitedly gossiping to one another about me it was pretty obvious but I paid no mind. I closed out my tab and made my way to a new bar.
The next bar was neighboring the one I was just in and as soon as I walked in i knew it wasn't my scene at all, it's hard to explain but everyone was dressed in fucking this country, slacking, "I could give less of a fuck" gear and it was jammed pack. No room to breath at all. I stayed for a quick 3 minutes and just explored fells point more. Went to another bar further down the road to this one club, they wanted a fucking $5 cover to get in. I said fuck no, as not many people were in it anyway and I just left. Went to another bar and it was wall to wall packed but I'd say over half of the girls were either dancing hard as shit or had their boyfriends (for the night/for good) already and there was no way to get into that.
Honestly I was feeling pretty run down and shitty after those previous experiences of straight up hostility and went to the last bar. I half assed approached a couple of girls that were walking by this last place and they just kept walking. Also approached this one girl on her cell phone and she just looked at me quickly and looked back down at her phone, she did not say one word in response. I got a glass of water, drank it took a last piss then bailed from Fells Point entirely. Making my way back to my car I talked to one more girl which didn't pan out to anything, she was from the UK though so that was cool.
Once I got back to my car I was just so angry and pissed about the whole night I started cursing and what not in my car, I was just done with all of it. What do you guys think? What in the absolute fuck happened? Why the hostility towards me? Was my suit too much? Is Baltimore just not my vibe? It did feel like I didn't belong in general. I felt like I was driving a car in a Motorcycle race if that makes any sense. Just felt wrong, the whole night felt wrong but I kept plowing through. I will give it another shot probably tomorrow night but this time in chill street gear to see if that makes a difference
