I met a girl through a mutual friend last week. My buddy brought her along to a bar on Monday and after introduction, her and I flirted with deep eye contact and teasing for the next hour or so. Before leaving I handed her my phone, told her to give me her number, and we would hang out later that week.

I text her the next day with a joke from the night before and then to simply gauge her availability. I was planning on going out of town for the weekend so I wanted to meet up before I left. We set up a date for Wednesday and that was the extent of the texting until leading up to the date.

The date went perfectly. There was never a lull in conversation. We bounced to around 3 different locations over the course of an hour and I gradually escalated kino until I eventually kissed he her while walking in the park. She was giving me all kinds of IOIs all night. Couldn't quite seal the deal though because she had to work the next day and it was getting late, so I walked her back to her car, gave her a long goodbye kiss and told her we'd hang out when I got back from my vacation. I felt like things could not have gone better and thought date 2 was all but a sure thing.

She happened to be from around the place I was visiting and suggested I try this restaurant while I was there. On friday I sent her a text that said "[Restaurant] is calling my name." To which she never replied. "Oh well," I thought "She's probably just busy and that text doesn't really beg a response." I didn't try to send anything else.

I call her Sunday morning and left a message saying I wanted to see what her schedule looked like and to call me back later.

She sent me a text a while later saying something like "I'm really sorry but I'm seeing someone else now." I wished her the best and thanked her for being honest.

I spent a lot of time thinking about what I did wrong but quickly realized that was stupid and went back to watching football.

The whole situation hit my confidence pretty hard, but I'll bounce back. I just had to write this down as a way to get the situation from swimming around in my head and fucking with me.
