Quick background: In my history class there was this cute girl with strawberry blonde hair with pink streaks underneath. For sake, We'll call her A. I talked with her every now and again but never really closed -- we knew each other's names and it was more casual talking than anything else. Mistake number one, no escalation.

I work at Chipotle (was working the grill area today), and she knew that. She comes by from time to time to get food, but not "just because I'm there." She showed up today with her friend. When I saw her passing by, I waved and said "Hey, can I trust you with something super fucking important?" and she smiled and said sure. I reached for my wallet and grabbed my credit card and said, "Go to Chik-fil-A and get me a milkshake. Large Cookies and Cream, whipped cream and cherry." She nodded. Just as she was about to grab my card, I pulled back and looked at her friend, "Can I trust A?" with the classic "shit-eating grin". They giggled and she said yes. I extended my arm again giving her my card and as I was doing so, I said "I'm only doing this because she said you're trustworthy. looks at her What's your name?" "A" (henceforth, A2, yes, they have the same name.)

I gave them a blank stare, and they both lol'd pretty loud. I just shrugged it off and went about my job. A asked if I could come some rare-ish steak for her, to which I agreed (possible mistake here?).

Two minutes later, they came back. Herp, CFA is closed on Sundays. Told them to go to Haagen Dasz. Closed. Told them to go to Coldstone. Closed. Whatever. A gave me my card back and before they left, I said "Hey A, take down my number." She took a second to register what I was saying (there WERE people waiting in line between me, her, and the glass/counter.) and she reached into her purse and halfway she stopped, said "No, you take down mine".

"I'm working, I can't take my phone out." I went over and grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and handed it to her. She wrote down her number, handed it to me and then I gave her a look and said "Oh, I'm going to text you very naughty things after work". She rolled her eyes and giggled, and was on her way.

I prooooooobably should've kept with my "Take down MY number" thing . Thoughts, opinions?
