So after the last date which turned out really touchy, I wasn't really thrilled to see her. Yeah I wanted her, but I'm friend zoned, so whatever.
She picked me up and we went to the city to see the band we both like. We get in and find a good spot, band starts, and I'm shakin my butt. She on the other hand, is very still. I tease her about it and try to coax her into dancing with me, but she refuses, so I tell her, "If you're not going to dance with me, you gotta help me find someone who will." She says, "Go ahead." I ask, "You going to help me?" She says, "Nope!"
Fine, w/e. I head towards the stage and pic convenient places from which to take pictures of the band. I approach a pretty girl in a group of girls and tell her, "I came here to dance, but my friend, she's being a square and won't dance with me. Will you dance with me?" She accepts excitedly.
We danced to the next couple songs, but I feel like I didn't address her enough and I think I was disengaged. I haven't danced much with girls, not sure how to escalate in that scenario.
After the song ends, I high five her and let my hand linger in hers. She gives my hand several good squeezes and asks me my name, then I ask hers, but then says she's sorry and disengages a little bit. I stick around for another song, then I thank her for the dance and move on.
I went around taking more pictures from convenient angles, but didn't find a comfortable approach until the show ended.
All in all, I think I did a good job disengaging from the girl I went with, as I think this helped solidify the true state of our relationship (that is, friends), while at the same time, I showed her that I'm not going to let her rejection stop me from having fun. Got some approach practice as well.
When she dropped me off at home, I agreed that we should go to their next concert, and she agreed to be my wing girl.
