I go to this place often and every few times a cute girl will sit next to me (or vice versa), but I've never stuck up a conversation because it would be awkward since people around us would be able to hear (talking is allowed, but its still pretty quiet there). So I came up with the idea to pass notes. This is the first time I tried it and it ended up being a #-close. I folded up the note and slid it over to her (HB8), not removing my hand until we made eye contact. Then I gave a slight smile and went back to working on my homework. I'm very new to this (just started reading seddit a week ago) and I'm experimenting. Can you guys give me feedback on what I should have done/said differently?

Here are the notes we passed (one page front and back). Not pictured: I said something like "Great. The pleasure was all mine." after she gave her number, but I ripped it off and gave it to her so I could keep her number.
