I got the # of a bartender where I sometimes do happy hour with coworkers, she is a 18 y/o HB9.

I really didn't build enough attraction before I asked her out [mistake], the date would have been tomorrow. I really felt like this chick had a strong likely hood to flake on me since she wasn't concrete about out plans - she left me with a "I'll See" when i told her a meet date and time. Then my dad messages me for dinner (he lives out out town but comes in often, so it is kind of important but not critical). I considered trying to get more concrete details from HB9 but decided that she was more likely to flake than not, mostly due to me not building up enough attraction. So as commonly said "flake on them before they can on you."

  • Me: Hey Bootylicious ; ) Something came up... I'll have to cancel on tomorrow. [Even though I was the one who set up the meet and not her, but i made it sound like i was canceling plans that she had set. Bootlicious was mostly because I made comments about her nice butt when I last saw her]
  • Her: That's fineeeee I gotta get my nails did anyway
  • Me: Feel like I dodged a bullet.... Wouldn't want the mangled hands on me ; P [I knew I couldn't let her sound like getting her nails done was an acceptable alternate than being with me]
  • Her: Lol yeah they are looking rough
  • Me: I hope they don't affect our happy hour... I guess you'll owe me one. You're lucky I'm so nice. [Pretty much canned lines from this subreddit but I was going to see her tonight for happy hour which also I didn't like about our meet tomorrow, so I was more happy to meet another time]
  • Her: hahah we owe eachother! Considering your ditching [Here she is agreeing enthusiastically that she somehow owes me when she never really had to make up for anything.]

I didn't text after that because I knew I would see her soon enough. I wanted to leave on her texting me. And additionally, we had been texting back to each other quickly so she know's I most likely read the message but i really didn't jump on the idea of setting another meet up (note* I think this works best if they know full and well you aren't shy about asking them out). I feel like if I was to set plans now I would have a much lesser chance of her flaking.

As more of a side note - I did text her a couple of times in-between original date set and these texts. They were both unrelated to the idea of meeting and they were both fun, things we had talked about, slightly escalating (very slightly), and personalized to her differently in each message.
