I've been messing around with Tinder lately, and have been having some success.

I installed Tinder on the morning of 4/19/2014.

I swipe right to everyone except for people I am REALLY not attracted to.

I've had 158 matches in the ~4 days, 75 of which I have contacted (3 of which contacted me LOL), 61 of which have contacted me back, 22 of which I have had more then a few messages with, 9 I've gotten phone numbers from, 4 of which I've scheduled dates with, 1 of which I've gone out with and also k-closed.

Tinder is really just a numbers game, a certain number of matches equals a certain number of dates. The more you can expand your matches, the bigger your bottom line will get.

With Tinder, you can steal content, big time. I stole "Would you Rather" questions off /r/wouldyourather (Top of All Time) and I Googled good 20 Questions questions.

Specifics of the date:

She messaged me first, so obviously that is a positive sign off the bat, though a few others contacted me and totally flaked after their initial opening.

We were totally rude and disgusting to start out, her trying to shock me and me coming back through her "screening" or whatever it was.

Eventually I said, "Can we break character for a second here? This app is hilarious. It's like a game of What rude shit can I say and still salvage the conversation."

She laughed and we totally dropped the weird shit and started laughing about people on Tinder and the strange ones we've seen.

I told her good talking to her and goodbye after about 1 hour of chatting.

We picked it up the next day and chatted some more. I was now working towards asking her out. I suggested "20 Questions" and we went back and forth.

"What's the most dangerous situation you've ever been in?"

"What are you afraid of?"

I basically Googled "best 20 questions" and used my favourites from there.

After a while I said, "I'm losing interest in texting you. When are you free to meet for coffee?"

She said she's free next week. I told her that I was away and I was free the next evening.

She agreed and gave me her phone number.

I immediately called her and when she picked up I made a joke about her being a woman, (THANK GOODNESS) or at least on the phone. I set a time, and place on the phone. We chatted for a few minutes about her job and stuff.

We met up and it was basically standard DeCarlo escalation ladder and some Cocky Funny kinda stuff. Spoke for a while, I remembered I had to pick up a friend so I dropped her back off. I kissed her, but she was going for the make out sesh. I pulled away after a second and said, "We're in public." She laughed and said sorry and then got out of the car.

MORAL OF THE STORY:

  1. Tinder and other online apps are an uphill battle initially. If you can be more than a creep and keep a conversation going, you're doing better than half the people on there.

  2. It's a numbers game, same with real world seduction (not that this isn't real world), so if you're not getting the results you want, you need to talk to more people.

  3. Try to move it out of Tinder quickly. Talk for a bit, leave off with an easy thread to pick back up on later. (she asks you a Would you Rather and you say you'll answer tomorrow) Then the next time you talk, move it to phone or face to face.

  4. Once you're out of the app, it's basically the same seduction as usual.
