DISCLAIMER: I'm no expert/guru. A lot of this will read like I'm being professorial about it but it's just my writing style. I don't actually think I'm any good at this and I'm not really advocating that people emulate what I do. When I say "takeaways", they're really for my benefit, but enjoy.

This won't be the most interesting FR you ever read, but I'll be out every night this week and I've committed to writing something up for each night.

Tuesdays in DC are all about the undergrad scene. There are 4 bars that have "college nights" on Tuesday and I picked one of them (an Irish dive bar) where I am sort of a regular. I am NOT college age for those who are curious, I'm 30, but girls consistently guess my age younger so I manage to blend in OK.

My pull ratio at these places isn't stellar, but it's the only game in town on Tuesday and I also wanted to catch up with a friend who I hadn't seen in a few months.

I get there at 9pm, friend is already waiting. I introduce myself to a new bouncer out front, go down and talk to the friend. 2 other community guys show up, we're all at the bar talking. It's DEAD, maybe 10-15 people there, but we're having a good time by ourselves. Another bouncer I've known for awhile walks over, I talk him up, introduce my friends, etc (DHV). I see a girl I pulled here once (call her #0) out of the corner of my eye, she's looking the other way. I'm not going to jump out of my seat, but I file this info away for later use.

After awhile more people start coming in, around 10 it's pretty full. A big group of 20 people are there from Austin on business, probably the only other non-college kids in the bar but us. I open one by telling her to go outside and get a happy hour wristband (I'm on the list - DHV). I bring her and her friends outside, they get wristbands, I find out this "girl" is 38! My prior record is a 37 year old, so my sights are set on this chick because she's foxy (Let's call her #1). I'd have guessed late 20's. I bounce in and out of their set, back to my friends, etc. My one friend manages to offend some girl in this group (call her #2), so I use this as an opportunity to isolate the offended one, patch things up, and try to get her to help me out with #1. I do a good job with this, we bond, she's actually really cool so the conversation goes longer than I expected. She's married and I'm not pursuing, I'm after #1, but we probably talk for 30 minutes. Lo and behold, I guess #1 got bored of waiting or something, because she's found another random dude at this point. Too bad for me.

I approach #0 and make some small talk. I'm gently feeling out whether I can smash this one again. She's a hot Persian chick, but I think she felt like a big slut the first time and so while friendly, isn't receptive to any meaningful advance.

There are a bunch of other openings/interactions in here by this point but none worth mentioning.

We decide to bounce to another of the college spots, this one is a club. We get there, $20 cover. I know the bouncer so myself and my friends get in for free (DHV)($). This place is POPPING, and I'm more a regular here than anywhere. I say hi to bartenders I know, and my friend is the DJ every Tuesday so I hang out in the booth some (DHV). I approach a group of four girls, two of which are grenades, one of which is a ~7 Asian girl, and one of which is a ~9.5 towering blonde who looks like Heidi Klum. At this point I have 2 bracelets, one from each bar. I open the blonde (who has one bracelet) with "I have more bracelets than you so I win". She retorts with "No, it's my birthday so I win automatically!" (in Easten Euro broken English). My bday is in a few days so we're both Libras, we talk a lot. Her friends are up from Tampa, where I go frequently so we're discussing Tampa bars/clubs, etc. We get to talking about Halloween costumes. The girls are going as a bunch of rappers (Blondie is Kanye, lol). I describe my costume and ask them to guess what it is($$). They're telling me about some creepy dude that's following them around, whom we all collectively make fun of, etc. Important to note here that I'm singlehandedly engaging a 4-set. My friends were nowhere to be seen for most of this (fuckers).

Eventually my friends want to leave so I # close blondie because I know I can't get her away from the pack tonight. She's like "text me your name, we need to hang out". I invite her to another friend's birthday this Friday at another club where he promotes (DHV).

We leave. At this point there are only 3 of us, one guy had bailed. I get a ride to my car from these guys and they drop me off. I'd parked over by the first Irish bar and it's 15 minutes from last call. Fuck it, I'm going back in alone.

I go back in and the Austin biz trip people had all left, my former pull had left, etc. Pretty sparse. I open a few randoms, but nothing is happening. I take a piss then walk outside and start opening girls who are standing around, asking them if they want a ride. I'm STONE sober at this point, which is important to note. I'm very non-threatening about it, just "hey do you girls need a ride, I'm headed in X direction".

One girl who is all alone says no at first but then says yes. We're walking to the car and I use a quick little baiting routine, saying:

"I was here with my friend Alex, he just broke up with his gf and I was trying to show him a good time, but he bailed early."

The intent of this is to bait her into asking MY relationship status, which this girl promptly does. She asks if I have a gf, I say no, and she says "that's surprising, you're cute". BINGO. She says she noticed me in the bar earlier that night, and I said I'd noticed her also (which I had, however briefly).

Still walking, she asks "what do you do?". I use my locally famous "I'm a dolphin trainer" bullshit, she laughs it off, then I tell her my real job in a nonchalant way (good job so DHV). We get to my car, she's like "Oh shit I've never been in a convertible, TOP DOWN!". She's texting her friend about "balling it up in some dude's convertible", etc. DHV. (I have a GT500 'vert, if anyone's curious).

I'm like "where do you live?". She says "Eh, it's nice out, just drive". It wasn't nice out, but I'm not arguing. We drive around for 20 minutes, talking, then we finally meander back to her place. I ask to use the bathroom, we go upstairs. I pull her in for a kiss in the elevator, and she's good at it. Go up, use bathroom, roomies are all awake so I know a bang is going to be tough. I ask to see her room, we make out for awhile but then she says she needs to go to sleep. I don't push one iota, I just hand her my phone, she puts in her first and last name, then I grab one more kiss and bounce.

I text her on the way home with "good to meet you, see you later this week".

($)I met this bouncer the same way I meet most of them. When I see a new guy, I introduce myself at the door politely then ask if he wants me to bring him a redbull from inside. Bouncers work hard, and late, and they can't generally drink, so they appreciate the free redbull. DO THIS. You make friends quickly this way. This particular guy and I have a system though, I tell the bartender to mix me up a RB&Vodka then have them pour it back in the can, so my bouncer friend can enjoy an adult beverage whilst working the door. He's introduced me to the rest of the staff, huuuuge DHV. I've gotten groups of 5 dudes in the door here, no line/cover, when there is a line of 50 hot skanky clubrat girls waiting outside.

($$)My costume is dressing in brown, head to toe, with a gold halo. The costume is "Holy Shit". I did not make it up, and it might not even be my costume, but this is what I tell girls because it makes them laugh.

TAKEAWAYS:

  • KNOW THE STAFF. Be a regular. Nothing DHV's you like knowing the staff, and it's subtle and non-braggy. They will look out for you. I cut lines, I don't pay covers, I get free drinks, etc.

  • On a more general note with the redbull/bouncer thing. Do nice things for people and people will do nice things for you. I don't mean with girls you're gaming, but with everyone else. When you meet a person, think about what they could use in their life at that moment. Add value.

  • Bad wings aren't necessarily bad for YOU. My one friend was in a foul mood and was blowing up girls left and right, but this let me come in and basically AMOG him consensually. It made me look good (he didn't mind, he wasn't gaming that night).

  • Stay out until last call. Approach girls who are alone at the end of the night. Be CHILL, aggro game won't work here, generally.

  • Routines are OK! I used several little gambits here. None of them are elaborate. 2 are my own and 1 is stolen from Seddit. Elaborate routine stacking isn't my thing, but I like having a little toolbox.

     - The "dolphin trainer" bit.   - The "my friend's gf" bit, as a bait.   - The "can I use the bathroom" bit.   - The Halloween costume thing.  I say this every year when asked about my costume, true or not.

I actually didn't use compliance testing once all night, which is usually my signature. I didn't do this on purpose, I just didn't have an opportunity.

I got 3 hours of sleep and I'll be out again tonight until last call, and I'm working all this week. Soldier up, gentlemen.
