I haven't posted many field reports to the subreddit, but I'm going to start dumping some of them! I'm going to section this field report into two parts in order to keep some of my sanity.

About eight months ago my long term girlfriend and I broke up. I took a couple months to reflect on the relationship and meditate on what I wanted from the next women I let into my life, and then hit the dating world again. From someone coming from a relationship to entering the dating world, I can definitely notice a difference in terms of how people act. I'm unsure if its a shift in the dating landscape, or it's just the age I am now (22.) Whatever the reason may be, I've found some things that have worked for me and maybe it'll be of some help to another!

Tinder strategy: To be honest, my patience level for tinder has gone downhill the past couple of years. From someone who's used to using it regularly the past two years I can definitely notice a difference in the way interactions go now as opposed to two years ago. A lot of women on tinder use it as a means of validation plus the ratio of men to women on tinder make it even more difficult to connect with women. All those points aside, my tinder strategy has changed a lot over the past two years. As morbid as it may sound, tinder has shifted into a "sales funnel" for me in order to acquire more leads and qualify them by adding them on snapchat. To those who may not be familiar with the sales process, in sales a lead is a prospective consumer of a product or service, created when an individual or business shows interest and provides contact information. Thinking of this in terms of Tinder we can compare matches to potential leads who show an interest in our profiles. As salespeople know though, a lead doesn't always mean a sale and a match doesn't always mean a close. In order to continue down the "sales funnel" many salespeople will qualify their leads. An unqualified lead in sales doesn't know anything about what your company or business does, much the same way an ordinary match on tinder a doesn't know much about you when they first match. Some men on tinder may spend a long time talking to potential matches, "getting to know them," before expressing any interest in going on a date or shifting the interaction to the real world. In a way, messaging someone in order to get to know them is a way of qualifying a lead, but with how things have shifted in the past years, I find that getting to know someone over the internet isn't something I really want to spend my time doing. First, humans are non verbal. I find it much easier to express my personality in person then over text messages and also I don't have the time to constantly message people I don't know on the internet. Don't get me wrong, when I have a vibe with someone I enjoy talking to them and messaging them throughout the day, but for me that doesn't usually come until we've at least met. So if our goal is to qualify leads, without having to constantly spend time nurturing them by messaging how should we go about it?

Snapchat as a tool to qualify matches

Snapchat is my favorite social media platform. I feel like Snapchat's popularity has caught on because of the personal nature of it. Snapmaps highlights local areas where others are interacting and snaps last a certain amount of time so the content is always fresh. Snapchat stories hands-down is the number one feature of Snapchat. So how can we use snapchat effectively to qualify leads?

Snapchat is most effective when you have original content, a clear message and interesting stuff to share. When I match with someone on tinder my whole goal is to get them to snapchat. Not only are snaps more personal than messages, but it allows us to utilize our story to share content and qualify leads before closing them for a date!

This magical tale starts with a girl I had just recently matched with on tinder. I started off our interaction with one of my favorite openers "So are we going to tell our parents we met on tinder?" Sometimes I'll use "So I think you're supposed to try and seduce me now," depending on how I feel the other girl may react. Some girls, mostly younger girls, don't take too kindly to that second pickup line so I use it sparingly. Your first message doesn't have to be perfect though. In fact, our goal is just to get them to respond. Since you're competing with other guys, you want to separate yourself from them as much as possible. As long as you don't send "hey" or "hows it going" you should be gucci, but at least try to be creative! Also remember your goal at first isn't to get to know the girl, that comes later. Your goal on tinder is build attraction in order to qualify your lead and send it further down the funnel to snapchat. So don't interview your tinder match, just flirt! I won't go over my whole tinder interaction, but I lucked out on this one because she set me up for some pretty witty replies. Witty enough to frontpage r/tinder. After our initial interaction, I shifted our conversation towards snapchat in order to further qualify my match! When I add a match from tinder on Snapchat I don't have a set time I try to close them by. Shift away from a scarcity mindset and understand that women are just other people with life's of their own! Some of the girls I take out from tinder stay on my snapchat for months before I take them out. Having original content on your story helps tremendously! At the root of who I am I'll always be a creator, so my snapchat story is usually filled with interesting content. I post skits, poetry, daily rap verses I've called bar a day as well as just my everyday life whenever I go on an adventure. I live downtown in Detroit, so usually there's something interesting to share. That's the reason I love snapchat stories so much, I'm free to share who I am and I don't have to spend time and time again explaining it to my matches. I don't have to worry about if the girl likes me when we finally go out. Knowing she's seen my story for however long she has, I know she has a good indication of who I am so I don't have to worry as much.

That's all for part 1. Part 2 I'll highlight our interaction and close.
