Okay, so as I posted yesterday, I went to a jam session to play the sax. I managed to get the metro 10 minutes ahead of my friends, so I go inside and have a chat with a dude, basically just socializing and demonstrating social value.
My friends call me, I go to pick them up and bring them to the pub. We sit down, have a beer, then I wait for the right moment to play along (there was a girl [HB4] on the guitar, also singing, can't just barge in to her song). So I go there, and I basically tell her we're gonna play together. We have a bass guitarist, acoustic guitarist, and me. So I basically shout to the pub "Is there a drummer in the house? We need a drummer!" and lo and behold - a wild drummer appears!
So we play some songs (the girl tried to lead even when I tried to get some solos with the saxophone), when the bartender (I'm already friends with him) comes to me and tells me that maybe it's best if I back off. Apparently, I didn't quite blend in with the others' music, or that's what the other artists told him (in French. I live in Brussels as an Erasmus student, and the city is like 85% French speaking, so communication was a bit tough). He also tells me that this is the last jam session of the year.
I shrug and go to sit and chat with my friends again over another beer, they give me some confidence boost (they're also seriously pissed at the bartender and stuff), while another guy goes and starts playing alone on the bass guitar while singing.
Soon enough, he's joined by a drummer and another acoustic guitar player. In the meanwhile, one of my friends (he's a retired PUA) talks with the bartender and explains that this isn't fair, a jam session is supposed to be open for all. My friend and the bartender have a long discussion, while I go back to the stage and start playing - but these guys seriously suck, and they don't listen. I explain stuff to them, tell them to lead, but they simply don't do jack and just play the same tune in the background, over and over again. This isn't why I came to the place - usually the jam sessions are far better (these guys weren't the regular artists, either), and these guys basically fuck it up.
At a certain point I just say "Fuck it, this isn't working." I pack in my sax and go to my friends. We decide to bounce (had to wake up early, anyway). In order to leave on a high note, my retired-PUA friend takes us to a pretty nice pub, which is right next to his home. We talk there, have some laughs, and then go home.
So, yeah, not sure why I'm actually posting this FR, actually, but I guess I need to get used to posting FRs regularly, if I really want to improve. Feedback on the situation is much appreciated, as always!
EDIT: Oh, yeah, forgot to add this - the dude who came and played the bass guitar while singing basically hogged the stage to himself. Turns out he was a close friend of the guy who organizes the jam sessions. Pleh.
