FR #13: Slightly Full-of-Herself College Girl

I went on a date with L, an undergrad at unnamed-Ivy-league-school, the first time I've gone on a date with a UILS student since I was there myself eight years ago. We'd been exchanging funny/flirty texts occasionally over the weekend before. About three minutes before our meeting time, she texted me:

Her: Ok I'm excited to meet you but I have to warn you - there's one thing I'm a little apprehensive about

Me: What's that?

Her: I just...

Her: I don't think you're ready for this jelly.

Then she appeared, so I told her I don't really like jelly. Great start! She was a bit less attractive than her photos, and she was kind of trying to show off knowledge of various things. But she seemed worth a chance nonetheless.

Regardless of all that, I'm pretty sure I messed it up by failing to do anything to create attraction. Maybe it just wouldn't have been there, but maybe not. I messed up in a way that I keep messing up: I chose a place to meet that did not facilitate kino, because we were sitting across the table from each other. Since this has happened a few times, I think I've finally learned: I need to scope out the place ahead of time to make sure that we'll be sitting in a decent configuration.

Not really interested in seeing her again, but I sent her a nice "nice to meet you" text the next day. Didn't hear back.

FR #14: B, Part Two

This was a second date with a girl that I wrote about in my previous FR (but unfortunately, not the one I really want to see again--as far as I can tell she wants to, but circumstances have not been on our side). I'm not sure why I agreed to see B again, since I wasn't really attracted to her the first time, but I didn't have anything to do, and I was hoping her roommate who I met on the previous date would hook me up with his weed dealer.

We met at her place again, did some cooking, and then retired to the couch for make-out time. After about 10 minutes, realizing that I still wasn't into her, I stopped and said I had to go. And I went.

So, basically, I wasted her time and mine, despite lack of attraction on my part, because I preferred the certain hook-up with a girl that I didn't especially want to hook up with to the uncertainty of going out alone. That was a mistake. I have plenty of other prospects, so I shouldn't be spending time and effort pursuing the ones I'm not actually interested in. So, new abundance strategy: Don't go after girls that I don't really want just because they're there and potentially willing. We'll see how it goes.
