Local connivence store, seen her a few times. I know her name. I say her name while she's walking into another room. She does something, comes back out. I ask her to give me cash back off my credit-card. She takes my card, starts piling up a few dollars. I playfully ask if she knows my name, she says 'sorry no'. I tell her, she smiles.

She hands me money. I hold it. A brief pause, like a why are you still here type pause, then I say. "How about I take you out sometime. Can I get your number." She then told me that I would think she's a lair, and showed me that her phone doesn't have service right now. She suggested that she might start getting service again tomorrow, like she planned to get her phone fixed.

I paused, got nervous. My hands shake I say, "Well then how about you contact me." I struggle to pull my card out. I hand it to her. At this point I'm pretty nervous. I say something like, "Well I can't wait for you to show me around town." Then I leave and say goodbye (insert name)

I felt like I fucked up. I mean this is the first time I ever done something like this, but at the end of the interaction I really lost my cool. I am looking for some advice on what to do differently. It was very hard to read whether she was into me, or not, because she seemed so confident. ADVICE? Feedback?
