I chatted a few times with a girl on an online dating site, and we'd exchanged numbers but hadn't made any firm plans. Then last Friday I was at a bar in her neighborhood and having trouble staying in state, so I texted her to see if she wanted to come out. We made plans to meet for drinks tonight.

We met at a bar and had to wait a few minutes for a table, which was a bit awkward. I got there 15 minutes early to try to get us a spot at the bar, but it wasn't going to happen so I put us in line for a table a few minutes before she arrived. I keep choosing bad kino locations, and this was another one. If we'd been at the bar it would have been good, but we ended up across from each other at a two person table.

The conversation was good, though at one point she asked if I was nervous, which surprised me. I wasn't really, but I was trying to project some energy, so I think she read that as anxiety. I didn't have a great response, but I managed to keep the conversation going in another direction. After about an hour and a half, we moved on to another bar, where once again we were across from each other at a 2-top. Damn! But the conversation was going really well, at least.

By the time we left the second bar, it was 11:30, and she had to work early, so I walked her home. After we started walking, I took her hand. When we got to her place, she hugged me, and I went in for the kiss. She was standing on a step, which made us the same height, so I joked about that. (As in my last date that ended with a kiss, the kiss was really weird and confused. I don't get what's going on really, because I never had this problem before.) Then she thanked me for a nice evening, I thanked her in return, and headed out. I think it went pretty well, so I'll text her tomorrow.

I wasn't quite ready to go home, so I went back to my favorite bar and spent about 10 minutes outside talking to the bouncer who kicked me out two weeks ago. He's gotten to be pretty friendly now, I think because I stood up to him when he got in my face, but then have showed him respect since then.

When I got inside, there was mixed 10-set dancing, and a mostly male 8-set at a table, and that was about it. I joined the dancing group, and started talking to a really cute girl, who seemed into me. After about five minutes, I decided to leave her for a bit and look around, planning to come back after opening the other set. The weather was really nice tonight, so I went outside to see if anyone was out there, and as I was going out, three guys from the table group came out to smoke, so I started talking to them and really hit it off. Then two of the guys from the dancing set came out, so I motioned for them to come over and join us, which was pretty cool. (People kept asking me if I knew the other group, or who I knew, and my answer was always, "The only person I know here is the bouncer!") After their cigarettes were done, we headed back inside, and I joined the table set at their table. I looked around for the cute girl who I'd been talking to, but she was nowhere to be found. I got up and talked to a few other people in her group, and then joined the table again. About 15 minutes later, the cute girl reappeared, but as I was getting up to go talk to her again, she said goodbye to her friends and left. Damn.

I spent the rest of the evening hanging out with guys from the table group, and exchanged numbers with several of them.

On the way to my car, I passed a female 3-set who were walking down the sidewalk and eating something out of a take-out container. I was really in the zone from a fun evening, so I decided to engage. As I passed, I looked back and asked what they were eating.

Girls: "Nachos." Me: "Ooh, nachos! Where are they from?" Girl: "[Pub nearby.] Here, have some." Me: "I dunno, I don't really know you girls." Girl: "Well, if there are roofies in the nachos, we've just roofied ourselves." Me: "Alright!" (Takes chip.)

At this point I needed to turn and they were going straight, and I (as usual) forgot to ask for a number. I don't really care, though, because it was fun, and after two good first dates this week and possibly another one coming up this weekend, I'm feeling pretty abundant. Thanks, seddit!
