So I just got back from a party. I had been struggling beforehand with understanding how getting into the situation of grinding with a girl at a party works. I'd noticed that the general structure of certain dancefloors is The guys grinding with girls, the guys afc-ing, and the girls dancing wishing the afc guys would stop afc-ing and step up. This is what I'd been trying to penetrate. Now i think about it maybe i should have asked reddit about it, but anyways, I came up with a solution to this problem during the party: "Hey what's your name?" "[Name]" "Alright [name], let's go."

This actually worked almost every single time, and even when it didn't, it allowed me to remain confident and not feel creepy or afc. By the time the party was over, i felt comfortable grabbing girls to grind without dialogue.

That brings me to my actual question. I've suspected for quite some time now that I am a horrible grinder. At this party I'd been toying with my style, and while I was grinding with this one HB8 I know that I like, and in the midst of it her friend stops us and says "You call that dancing?!" Now this caught me extremely off guard and I actually lost my frame for a second or two, partially due to my insecurity with the syntax of grinding and thinking I'd done something horrible/taboo. HB8 had been like thrusting her booty into me, not the first time, and this time I thought I'd try alternating the bumps such that our pelvises bumped on the beats. HB8's friend quickly said she was joking, but now I'm not so sure. It was pretty uncool for her to call me out like that, especially when the whole goddamn party was grinding.

I watched this video after I got home, but I'm still not sure what's considered clean and what's not, especially when the music is very hip-hop-y and the movements are much more brisk.
